Inverness CT v St Mirren | Tuesday 19:45
Saturday's fixture between these sides was a plus point for St Mirren. For a start, they scored their first and only goal in November when Marc McAusland notched in the 17th minute. They also saw the return of their hitherto injured striker Steven Thompson.
The Buddies started the game well but run out of puff towards the end of it and were perhaps fortunate to escape with a draw. This replay on Tuesday night will be a lot tougher for the Paisley side.
Tommy Craig's side have been in wretched form of late. Only a better goal difference than Ross County is keeping them off the bottom of the SPFL table and they've procured just one win in their last ten games. The veteran coach is definitely feeling the strain! Watch his interviews on Sportscene.
Inverness on the other hand have had a superb season so far. They're level on points with Celtic at the top of the table and have beaten the champions and Dundee United so far in this campaign. Four wins in their last five league fixtures tells you all you need to know.
ICT have been chalked up at 8/13 best price with Ladbrokes for this match and although those odds are cramped, it's hard to take a strong position against them. The puzzle to solve for me is whether St Mirren can build on the Saturday scoreline and put in another good performance here?
Inverness are unbeaten at home this season and should have too much for St Mirren. I'm going to back them to win to nil at 8/5 with Paddy Power. John Hughes's side beat Celtic and Dundee United to nil earlier in the season and St Mirren have lost three of their last five matches to nil (including against ICT in October).
