SCOTTISH football aficionado Gerry Taylor (@thefurlongpole) takes a look at Sunday's Premiership showdown, highlighting his best bets.
Aberdeen vs Celtic | Sunday 3rd October 2021, 12:00 | Sky Sports
Normally this would be a top of the table clash – but sadly for these two sides it’s a mid-table battle, with both teams desperate for the three points.
Ange Postecoglou’s Hoops have just been handed a lesson on finishing, by Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday evening. If truth be told, the Celts should’ve bagged themselves a couple of goals at least during the 4-0 drubbing.
Stephen Glass’s outfit started well in Paisley last weekend, taking the lead early on, but the sending off, of midfielder Teddy Jenks swung the match in St Mirren’s favour, ultimately leading to a 3-2 defeat for the Granite City men.
With the desperation for both teams to claim the points here, I have a feeling we could be in for goals here. Especially with Celtic’s wide open attacking philosophy(averaging 3.14 goals in their league games).
Kyogo Furuhashi missed a couple of sitters against the Germans on Thursday evening, but to be fair to him, he was probably a bit rusty on his return after injury.
So perhaps, the likes of Kyogo, Liel Abada, Christian Ramirez, Ryan Hedges and co can serve us up a bit of a goal fest here.
Hence, an interest in over 4.5 goals at 6/1 with Bet Victor, and over 5.5 goals at 13/1 with Unibet, maybe worth a tickle. So, sit back and watch what should be an entertaining clash.
Best Bets
Aberdeen vs Celtic – Over 4.5 Goals (6/1 BetVictor)
Aberdeen vs Celtic – Over 5.5 Goals (13/1 Unibet)
