Brescia vs Parma Betting Preview: Beleaguered hosts to be opposed

THE European season continues its relentless quest for conclusion on Saturday and Jack Wright (@bet_shop_boys ) is on-hand to preview his favourite fancies.

Brescia are destined for Serie B next season after having their fate officially sealed with a 3-1 loss at Lecce on Wednesday, making it four defeats in the last five, with the other game in that sequence being a win against the only side beneath them in the table, Spal.

Parma had been on an awful run of form themselves – after picking up four points from their first two post-lockdown games, Roberto D’Aversa’s side proceeded to go without victory in the next seven, losing six. However, a defeat of Napoli in a remarkable game of three converted penalties, returned the Crociati to the to-10 and they could now finish as high as eighth.

One thing the visitors have been able to do since the restart is score goals, finding the net in every one of their 10 games while the hosts have conceded six on two occasions and three against, not only Lecce but both Roma and Torino, four of those games being in the last five.

As relegated sides tend to do – we may see some rotation from the Biancazzurri, looking to players who will feature next season and protecting assets who may be sold off in the upcoming transfer window.

With this in mind and odds on goals understandably slim, I am prepared to take a chance on Parma recording back-to-back wins at a surprising odds-against.

Having had a passion for football for as long as I can remember – I’m talking Shoot League Ladders here – one of my first “bets” is still my biggest win. After begging my mum to let me fill in her pools coupon so I could show off my knowledge, eight draws later and a cheque for £11,500 was soon in the post. As a Norwich fan it’s important to have a good grasp of what’s going on in the lower leagues and I also like exploring those less popular leagues to have a delve into any stats-based markets that are available. Right now, I’m particularly enjoying player bets. Outside of sport, I love eating and drinking - maybe a little too much - as well as listening to a varied spectrum of music, both from the comfort of my own home and at festivals.
