As poor as Bournemouth were prior to lockdown, were this game played a fortnight ago I would be laying Manchester United at 1/5 all day long. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been impressive since the resumption while Bournemouth have been horrendous.

With Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in the middle of the park, United have looked a lot more creative than they did for much of the season and having comfortably despatched Brighton and Sheffield United in the last week (both by a scoreline of three goals to nil), Bournemouth will hold little fear for them.

Bournemouth have managed just two shots on target in their last three matches and a 4-1 home loss to a previously shot-shy Newcastle was a new low for Eddie Howe’s men.

The Cherries do appear to have a lot of attacking talent in their midst but despite Harry Wilson, David Brooks, Josh King and Callum Wilson all starting against Newcastle, the Dorset side create very little, as they have for quite a while now.

I think it will be a more cautious line up for Bournemouth this weekend and my vote goes to a home win and Under 3.5 Goals, which is evens with SkyBet.

Such a bet has landed in six of the travellers last 11 league matches and their last five away games. It has also obliged in United’s last five victories in the Premier League and with the home side clearly likely to emerge victorious, I think it is the right way to approach such a one-side encounter.

I did consider backing the 3-0 scoreline as well given that United have won their last two league games in this manner but 13/2 is the best price and that is a little too short for me.
