The Bundesliga title race appears to be over. Bayern Munich are showing their quality more in each passing week and the chasing pack just cannot keep up with the Bavarians.
Dortmund appeared to be the best candidate to topple FC Hollywood and show their quality consistently but when push came to shove, Bayern were too strong. Leipzig, Gladbach and Leverkusen are all great to watch with extremely talented coaches, but in reality, they just do not possess the quality to keep up with the perennial champions.
At the bottom end, Werder Bremen's first-half against Frankfurt was promising on Wednesday and they looked to be gaining confidence throughout the match. However, a second-half collapse resulted in Frankfurt winning 3-0. This is quite ominous for Bremen as even when they look to be playing well they still manage to fall to an emphatic defeat.
Dusseldorf currently sit in the relegation play-off place and have dragged Mainz down to within a point of them. Paderborn, however, will go down knowing that if they could convert the many chances they create they would have had more of a chance of survival.

Bayern Munich are looking unplayable right now. Thiago being back available is enough for Hansi Flick to return to the winning formula he has created during his brief time at the helm.
Bayern's disciplined performance against Dortmund stunk of the display of champions and their first-half annihilation of Fortuna Dusseldorf was simply devastating. Now Flick's men are on an eight-match winning streak and the treble chasing outfit will view Leverkusen as another side they can overcome to get a step closer to their title.
However, Leverkusen boast lots of quality and are more than good enough to cause a considerable-sized threat to Manuel Neuer's goal, another Bayern star who has been rejuvenated throughout this season. Kai Havertz may be a doubt but Kevin Volland, Lucas Alario, Moussa Diaby and Bayern's nemesis Leon Bailey should provide enough pace and quality to be competitive.
Bayern have also conceded in eight of their 14 matches away this season and can look vulnerable on the break. This is the one weakness you could say about Bayern right now.
Benjamin Pavard lacks the blistering pace of many modern full-backs and can be done on the break, as Bailey has shown in the past.
Alphonso Davies is arguably the best left-back in the world right now but his greatest strength which is the threat he brings going forward can lead to space in behind him. However, you need to exploit it fast as he can probably run the length of the pitch in about five seconds.
David Alaba's desire to be a playmaker can also lead to him bringing the ball out of defence, which often leads to a vulnerability to a quick turn over in play.
However, Bayern should still be able to overcome Leverkusen in this clash. Thomas Muller is on top of his game right now and seems to create an opportunity with every touch he makes, the pace of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman provide so much balance and width, whilst Robert Lewandowski is still Robert Lewandowski.
There is not a stronger contender for the Champions League in Europe right now and that is for very good reason. Bayern should prove too strong in a game where both sides score (6/4 BetVictor).
Eintracht Frankfurt v Mainz | Saturday 6th June 2020, 14:30 | BT Sport
Eintracht Frankfurt did not start their midweek clash with Werder Bremen in the best shape but finished the match 3-0 victors. This came after an impressive win over Wolfsburg last weekend which stopped a rot that was forcing them down the table.
Andre Silva has found a new lease of life up top for Die Adler and scored a pinpoint header from a beautiful Filip Kostic delivery. Stefan Ilsanker played the role of the super-sub and scored a quickfire brace to move Frankfurt up to 11th in the table.
Eintracht face a Mainz who have not won in five Bundesliga matches and find themselves a mere point about the regulation playo-ff position. Mainz have not returned from the restart in any form whatsoever and have failed to put any convincing displays together.
The Koln result was a fluke and a lapse in concentration from the hosts whilst their showing against Leipzig flirted on being pathetic. Failure to beat a Dusseldorf side who had 10 men for most the match which sums up where the visitors are at. With complete honesty, it is a minor miracle that Mainz have collected any points since the restart.
Frankfurt are the current team for the neutrals to watch. Their last nine games have all produced at least three goals and average just over four, whilst 86% of Mainz away games have also produced three or more goals. The Bayern and Leverkusen match may be the glamour tie of the 2:30 kick-offs, but statistically, this is the game the neutral should follow.
With Frankfurt scoring on average over two goals per-game at home whilst only keeping two clean sheets in their last 10 it would be a surprise if they failed to win even if they’re leaking goals in the process. However, it would not be inconceivable to imagine them winning 3-0 and Mainz's free-fall to continue, therefore Frankfurt to win and Over 2.5 Goals (7/4 BetVictor) is the call.
