Matchday 3 gets underway with a tough trip to Russia for Manchester City. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) gives us his verdict.
CSKA Moscow v Man City | 17:00 | Sky Sports 5
Over the last few hours the price on Man City has got bigger and that makes total sense. Monday night's odds of 4/7 were truly ghastly and the 4/6 on Tuesday morning looks a lot more respectable. I think this will be a tough test for the Citizens and still think the price is a bit short.
When the sides were drawn in the Champions League last season, City won this tie 2-1 and that could very well be the case again. That match was pretty tight though, as was CSKA's home match against Bayern three weeks ago in this competition. Moscow put in a good show against the 2013 European champions with 10 shots recorded against the Germans 13. Will Manuel Pellegrini's side find things just as tough? I think so.
There's evidently still question marks over Manchester City's temperament in the Champions League. Qualification for the knockout stages looks in danger after a home draw against Roma three weeks ago, and I'm sure they still have nightmares about their 2012/13 campaign when they lost all three away games in the group. I'm happy to swerve the skinny 4/6 on offer.
CSKA have won their last five games in the Russian league and will be hopeful of, at the very least, keeping it tight tonight. Before I signed off for the night I had earmarked CSKA Moscow +1 on the Asian Handicap as my bet. It was odds-against before I entered the land of nod, alas now it's best price 4/5 with BetVictor. It's still good enough for me though. I'm fairly sure CSKA won't lose by more than one goal and won't be at all surprised if they take a point from this.
