LEICESTER welcome Arsenal on Saturday evening for a fascinating Premier League contest. Anthony Olsson (@Ant_olsson93) analyses the encounter.
Leicester v Arsenal | Saturday 9th November 2019, 17:30 | Sky Sports
High-flying Leicester welcome Arsenal to the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening in what is probably the second-most anticipated game of the weekend in the Premier League.
The Foxes have looked very impressive under Brendan Rodgers and they look like they are starting to fully believe that they can stay in the top four. Rodgers has his side purring and they followed up that amazing 9-0 victory over Southampton with a professional 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.
The Foxes have lost just one game in their last eight across all competitions and they’ll be eager to get at an Arsenal side that has looked soft away from home.
Arsenal have a had a couple of turbulent weeks with, not only poor results, but a change of captain. The fans aren’t exactly on side with Unai Emery with suggesting nothing has changed since the end of Arsene Wenger’s reign.
It’s not all doom and gloom for the Gunners as they are only four points off the Champions League spots despite being inconsistent, although the main problem is they don’t look to have any other ideas when they’re in a tough spot on their travels.
Leicester are 1/1 (Bet365) to win and I would have expected the home side to be stronger favourites. The Foxes are unbeaten here this season (W4-D1-L0), scored 12 goals and conceded just three in those matches. On current form, I think everything points towards the home side picking up maximum points.
Jamie Vardy has been in terrific form with 10 goals in 11 Premier League games and he should be able to thrive again here. Vardy is back to his aggressive best and he seems to relish challenges against the ‘big’ sides. Vardy has three goals in his last two home games against Arsenal and I really like the look of Vardy to score at any time at 10/11 (888).
The way these two sides play should produce an entertaining game and I think we could see a few goals. Arsenal have only failed to find the back of the net once in all competitions this season and we have a Leicester side that have scored 27 goals. I like by Leicester to win and Over 2.5 Goals in the match at 7/4 (Betway).
This game should be able to tell us where both sides are at this season and I think a win for Leicester will be huge for them in their pursuit of Champions League football. For Arsenal to get anything out of this game they’re going to have to show a solidity and toughness that hasn’t been shown so far. Will they be able to do it? I’m not so sure.
Best Bets
