HORSE RACING boff Graeme Johnston (@GraemeJ_83) picks out his best bet from Friday's card at Glorious Goodwood.
2:25 Goodwood | Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes | ITV
The Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes is a Group 3 over a mile for three-year-olds and there is a filly in here I've been waiting all week to back. It doesn't look a strong renewal and I'm incredibly hopeful of a huge run here.
Regal Reality (7/2 Bet365) is the favourite currently and as a well bred unexposed colt out of Sir Michael Stoute's yard, he could end up high class.
However, he requires a considerable step forward to win this, and at his current price he doesn't appeal to me at all.
Threeandfourpence (4/1 Ladbrokes) has run in some high-class races during his career but this looks much more like his level. He won a small race last time out which should give him confidence, however he is a very in and out performer and is hard to trust.
That, combined with his yards runners having a rare poor time of things, I'm opposing him.
Threading (2/1 Ladbrokes) is my idea of the winner here for the King of Goodwood, Mark Johnston.
She has run three poor races in her career, all of these were at Newmarket. Away from there she has only lost once (Coronation Stakes) and is also a previous course winner.
She is the highest-rated runner in the field and receives weight from the colts – she should win this.
Best Bets
