Top football betting writer Adam Goodwin (@AGJournalism) previews Thursday night's Europa League contest between Arsenal and Osterund.
Arsenal v Osterund| Thursday 22nd February 2018, 20:05 | BT Sport
After a 3-0 victory over Osterund in Sweden, Arsenal are in the driving seat heading into this home tie at the Emirates.
The snowy conditions in Sweden didn’t affect the Gunners last week, as they cruised to victory in the first leg. Nacho Monreal and Mesut Ozil both scored either side of a Sotirios Papagiannopoulos own goal, and they’ll be confident of getting a few more in this home time.
Danny Welbeck was Arsenal’s only fit first-team striker last Thursday, and it’s likely that he’ll start again at the Emirates tonight. The 27-year-old has zero goals in his 6 appearances in the Europa League for Arsenal, but he’ll be hoping to open his account in this competition this evening.
The opportunity for Osterund to come to the Emirates still believing was squandered when Pettersson missed a 91st minute penalty last Thursday. As a result, the Swedish side have got a tough task on their hands. Having failed to score at home and conceded three goals, the small club’s European journey is almost certain to come to an end tonight.
Osterund have only kept one clean sheet away from home in the Europa League this campaign, and you’d doubt that they’ll make that two tonight, with Arsenal scoring nine goals in their seven games at home in this competition.
I do fancy Danny Welbeck to get himself his first Europa League goal in Arsenal colours here. He needs to make the most of the opportunities he gets in the first team and when playing against a team as small as Osterund at home, it’ll be the perfect chance for Welbeck to impress Arsene Wenger. Back Welbeck to score at Evens with Sport Pesa.
