THE Daily Record's Mr Fixit (@mrfixittps) casts his eye over the weekend's Scottish football fixtures, highlighting his best bets.
Celtic v Aberdeen | Saturday 23rd December 2017, 15:00
I don’t know what was the biggest shock last week – St Johnstone’s win at Ibrox or Hearts crushing Celtic. Both paid 9/1 so the double returned 99/1 but I’m not sure anyone was mad enough to back it!
Celtic bounced back from their horror show at Tynecastle to beat Partick Thistle 2-0 and lead Aberdeen by five points ahead of Saturday’s meeting at Parkhead.
Celtic have gone off the boil but have a great record against Aberdeen, winning the past eight meetings – including a 3-0 tonking at Pittodrie earlier in the season – as well as eight in a row at home.
Both teams have scored in nine of the last 11 meetings in Glasgow and I fancy that again with the Dons in good form having win three on the spin. Take btts at 15/14 at Unibet.
Dundee Utd v Livingston | Saturday 23rd December 2017, 15:00
In the Championship, Dundee Utd face a Livingston side who were poor in midweek against Falkirk.
United are unbeaten in the league under Csaba Laszlo and have won five the last six, drawing the other.
The Tannadice men are overpriced at evens with Marathon and well worth taking.
Airdrie v Ayr | Saturday 23rd December 2017, 15:00
League One leaders Ayr’s last three matches have produced five goals apiece and I see no reason to not back another goalfest at Airdrie, whose previous five have seen both sides score.
I like Ayr to win and Over 2.5 Goals at 8/5 with Ladbrokes.
This has landed in Ayr’s last seven in all competitions and nine of their last 11.
Best Bets
Celtic v Aberdeen – Both Teams To Score (15/14 Unibet)
Dundee Utd v Livingston – Dundee Utd to win (1/1 Marathon)
Airdrie v Ayr – Ayr to win and Over 2.5 Goals (8/5 Ladbrokes)
