PRO PUNTER Dino Vita's (@VitaDino) started his season in fine style. Here's his latest Scottish NAP from Saturday night.
TNS v Elgin | Saturday 7th October 2017, 15:00
My selection this weekend comes from the Scottish Challenge cup which takes centre stage due to the international action as Welsh champions TNS host Scottish League Two outfit Elgin City on Saturday afternoon.
Now your probably wondering how a Welsh team is involved in the Scottish Challenge Cup -my answer is, not a clue but we might as well take advantage of it!
TNS are reigning Welsh Premier winners, have won their domestic league in each of the the last six seasons and made it into the second qualifying round of the Champions League after knocking out the champions of Gibraltar this term.
TNS knocked out Championship side Livingston on penalties in the last round after a 1–1 draw but looked the better side for most of the tie.
Elgin can only dream of winning top-tier titles or playing in Champions League qualifiers – they sit sixth in League Two after a decent start but lost their manager Jim Weir this week to Forfar.
Although Elgin knocked out Irish side Bray at home in the last round, they will have a very tough afternoon against side who are in excellent form.
TNS are full time and should have more than enough to win the tie but I’m hoping they use the superior status to win comfortably so I’ll be backing them to win -1 at 17/20 (Sportingbet) as they have a formidable home record, avoiding defeat domestically since March 2016.
Best Bets
TNS v Elgin – TNS -1 handicap (17/20 Sportingbet)
