A guest writer this weekend for the Saturday teatime game as Save The Punter (@SaveThePunter) gives her view on the Chelsea v Everton match.
Chelsea v Everton | Saturday 17:30 | BT Sport 1
Everything points to a Chelsea win here when they welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Since Antonio Conte switched to his variation of the 3-4-3 formation, Chelsea fans have been rewarded with four wins out of their last four EPL games.
With zero goals conceded and 11 scored, the 11/20 odds-on best price for Chelsea is a sure fire sign of the bookmakers respecting their resurgence.
At that price I simply cannot back the Blues. You can however, back the Everton & draw double chance at almost 2/1. Under Koeman's stewardship the Toffees have started to fulfil the potential they struggled to reach with Roberto Martinez in the hotseat.
Further, Everton's tumultuous recent run of form means we can take advantage of almost 2/1 on Everton at least getting a point – a price we aren't likely to see too often.
Romelu Lukaku is in fine fettle and could be ably supported by Barkley and Mirallas who both performed admirably in the 2-0 victory over West Ham.
Granted Chelsea look difficult to break down with Kante recently performing a role more akin to his job at Leicester, and Luiz given the solidarity of having defenders either side of him.
All the odds and form go against my recommendations. Indeed the suspension to Idrissa Gueye, -who is absolutely vital to Everton- will be a big blow. Tom Cleverley should be supremely motivated to deputise excellently in his colleague's absence as he fights for a place in future starting XIs.
