WILLIE Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) goes on the search for more winners on Sunday as he shares his best bets on France v Iceland.
France v Iceland | Sunday 20:00 | BBC One
Gone in 70 seconds. That was the fate that my selection suffered on Sunday afternoon as Robbie Brady's ridiculously early penalty for Republic of Ireland put paid to my hopes that France would win to nil.
Despite the early setback, a superb second half fightback by Didier Deschamps' men ensured that the tournament hosts made it to the last eight, where they will face…erm…Iceland.
Yes, Iceland. Who saw that one coming? Certainly not me – I doubt that many would have predicted that Hallgrimsson and Lagerback's boys would send England spinning out of the competition.
There's little dispute, though, that the smallest nation at Euro 2016 are worthy of their place in the quarter-finals and they command respect.
France could have panicked when they fell behind against Ireland but they didn't; Les Bleus kept their discipline, kept their shape and trusted that the rewards would come – and, after the break, they did.
Patience could be the key again, for Iceland are certainly well-drilled, although there's a chance that they could be a little battle weary after their heroics against the Three Lions.
France have looked frightened rather than fluent at times and there are sure to be nerves jangling again, particularly if Deschamps' side are unable to make an early breakthrough.
However, it's worth remembering that each of France's six goals in the tournament thus far have come after the break and patience may well be the watchword again on Sunday night.
The second half to produce most goals at 6/5, therefore, is tremendous value and it is this price that is the best bet for punters ahead of Sunday's showdown.
