REMI Garde has left Aston Villa. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) assess their first match without him as they take on Chelsea.

One thing seems evidently clear amongst the utter squalid mess hanging over Aston Villa just now – Remi Garde was not a popular figure at the club. He simply didn't inspire this insipid bunch to perform during his short reign in charge and the likelihood of mass mourning at his departure seems a slim one.
So with that in mind, and with the stink having left the building, there's perhaps a small case for expecting an improved Villa performance on Saturday.
The flip side is though that they simply collapse into a heap and get hammered here. One of the key players at the club Gabriel Agbonlahor has been suspended by the club for smoking a shish pipe on holiday and it seems that anarchy is prevalent at the club.
The atmosphere at Villa Park has been fairly toxic in the last couple of years and in the last three games they've conceded 11 goals there and scored just one. Will the players be arsed? Will the fans turn up? Those are the questions.
Rather than factoring in Garde's departure as a boost I'll choose the option that his exit sees the club crumple into a whimpering heap and they lose comfortably here.
Chelsea are without Diego Costa and that probably explains the small drift in their price on Friday afternoon to 8/13. I'll tuck in though as they have enough about them to feast on Villa.
The West London side are unbeaten in 14 in the league and will probably relish the chance to have fun here against the bottom side with no real pressure on them,
It's Chelsea -1 on the Asian Handicap for me at 11/10. A one goal win for the Blues sees my stake returned while anything bigger sees a payout.
