Quite frankly this looks the toughest weekend of the season so far from a bookings perspective. I'm not going to put selections up for the sake of it as it looks a minefield.
One fixture I've targeted all week though is the relegation battle in Modena between hosts Carpi and Frosinone. These two teams are both in the drop zone heading into this weekend and certainly for 19th placed Carpi it is win or bust time! Frosinone head north in a more comfortable position but still in deep trouble.
There have only ever been three encounters between these two teams in the past. The cards read 9-8-11. Very high stats. The second half cards in those games read 7-6-7. Again extremely high.
Luca Banti gets the whistle for this showdown and he averages 6.33 cards per game in Italy's top flight. 69% (4.4) of those come after the half time oranges are handed out. The over 3 second half cards line is 21/20 with William Hill and I wouldn't talk anyone off doing that.
This meeting, in addition to boasting an excellent track record of cards, also brings together Italy's 4th dirtiest team (Carpi) this season and the 8th in Frosinone. I can see this being “the battle of Modena” and Banti should be very busy! Accordingly, as my only tip of the weekend, I'm steaming into over 65pts at 5/4 with William Hill.
