TOM Selwyn (@Tom_Selwyn) returns to share his expert view on the final week seven showdown as the Ravens travel to the Cardinals on Monday night.
Baltimore Ravens @ Arizona Cardinals | Tuesday 00.30 | Sky Sports 1
Despite them being the heavy favourites, and rightly so, there’s no way I can trust the Cardinals. They have either won convincingly by over double-digits or have put up an absolute dud when they should have won.
The one constant though has been QB Carson Palmer who has been on fire, going over 300 yards in four of six games this year. With this is mind I’ll be backing him to go Over 295.5 passing yards against the Ravens.
The main reason for this is the fact he is going up against a Baltimore defence that has been particularly bad against the pass, giving up 286.2 yards-per-game to opposing QBs and that’s sixth most in the league.
What makes that figure even worse is the fact that one of the QBs they faced was the passing-challenged Steelers backup QB Mike Vick who only managed 124 yards.
As I mentioned earlier, Palmer has gone over 300 yards in four of the six games he’s played this season, but the two times that he didn’t were so lop-sided in Arizona’s favour early on that he really didn’t have to pass too much.
Indeed, in one of those games they brought their backup QB Drew Stanton in to close out the games.
Luckily, with WR Steve Smith in the fold after an injury, the Ravens should be able to keep this relatively close and force Palmer and the Cardinals to keep playing.
Arizona, even in their losses, has moved the ball with ease offensively so look for Palmer to have another big day against one of the league’s worst defences.
Best Bets
