Mr Fixit’s Scottish Football Tips | 28th February 2015

0

LAST week we managed to sign the famous Mr Fixit, tipster at Scotland's Daily Record for almost 20 years, to the WLB stable. MrF will sharing his best Scottish tips with us each week; here's his best weekend treble from north of the border…

Last week I was cursing Inverness Caley as they blew a lead THREE times to draw with Kilmarnock and sink my treble. I'm hoping for better luck this time and kicking things off in the Championship.

Dumbarton v Queen of the South | Saturday 15.00

Dumbarton has been a happy hunting ground for Queen of the South in recent times with the Doonhamers winning their last four trips there without conceding a goal.

Throw in the fact the Sons are in a form slump – they've lost five of their last six matches and by all accounts were lucky only to crash 3-0 to Hibs last week.

Queens are fighting it out with Falkirk for a play-off spot and their only recent defeats have been to Hearts and Hibs. They look good for three points on Saturday and I'm on a Queens win at 10/11 with SkyBet.

Hearts v Cowdeanbeath | Saturday 15.00

Staying in the Championship, runaway leaders Hearts have replaced craft with graft in the last few games to grind out results when not at their best.

On Saturday they should edge closer to the title when they host struggling Cowdenbeath, who were thumped 5-1 on their last visit to Tynecastle.

The Jambos are no bigger than 2/11 at Ladbrokes and should be able to cover the minus one handicap at 8/15 with Paddy Power.

Stranraer v Dunfermline | Saturday 15.00

Moving down to League One, leaders Stranraer were unlucky to lose to title rivals Morton last week and can bounce back this weekend with victory at home to Dunfermline.

This is already the sides' fifth meeting of the season and the Blues have the upper hand, winning two, drawing one and suffering just one defeat right at the start of the season.

Dunfermline have toiled under new gaffer John Potter and have lost two on the trot without scoring. Stranraer can add to the Pars' woes today by racking up a home win at 5/4 with William Hill.

Best Bets

Dumbarton v Queen of the South – Queen of the South to win (10/11 SkyBet)

Hearts v Cowdeanbeath – Hearts -1 (8/15 Paddy Power)

Stranraer v Dunfermline – Stranraer to win (5/4 William Hill)
