Bookings Tips | 24th January 2016

CARD KING Gavin Murphy (@GamePlanGavin) highlights the best bookings bets from across the continent on Sunday.

Atletico Madrid v Sevilla | Sunday 15.00 | Sky Sports 4

This looks a cracking match. Sevilla travel to the capital to battle table-topping Atletico Madrid in what is sure to be an exciting watch.

Senor Moonpig (AKA Ignacio Villanueva) was due to referee last week but was held back for what is surely Spain’s game of the week.

He averages 7.18 cards-per-game and simply doesn’t take any prisoners.

Atletico have been remarkably disciplined this year picking up an average of just 2.68 cards-per-game with Sevilla average exactly 3.00 per-game – not great stats but there is history in this fixture.

The last five encounters have accumulated total card figures of 7-11-7-6-9. This Sunday’s line is 6.5 and that is very backable.

Sevilla have found some form and will surely cause Atletico plenty of problems.

Accordingly, I’m backing Over 6.5 Cards with Bet365 at 4/6.

Juventus v Roma | Sunday 19.30 | BT Sport Europe

Another huge match, this time from Italy as faltering Roma travel to Turin to take on resurgent Juventus.

Given that these two have been battling for the Scudetto for the past few years, it is not a major surprise to see the number of cards recently totally 10-12-11-5-9 when they’ve locked horns.

In three of those five matches there were two red cards, so very tasty.

Luca Banti gets the whistle for this showdown and he averages 6.67 cards-per-game.

Given the historical stats, Over 6.5 Cards looks worthy of backing and that’s the selection I’m recommending with Bet365 at 8/11.

Best Bets

Atletico Madrid v Sevilla – Over 6.5 Cards (4/6 Bet365)

Roma v Juventus – Over 6.5 Cards (8/11 Bet365)

I first got interested in gambling through my cousin. He's a professional gambler and got me hooked as a teenager when you had to pay the 9% tax. Who remembers that?! These days I prefer to specialise on one market rather than spread myself too thinly. Hence my love of cards! Hopefully I can make others a few bob in the process of sharing my bets on WeLoveBetting. On a personal note I love most sports especially cricket, rugby and NFL. I support Tottenham and all things Welsh and outside of sport I enjoy reading autobiographies particularly with a glass of good wine!
