ANOTHER nervy night ahead for Rangers on Friday as they travel to Kirkcaldy to face Raith. We got Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) to look at the betting for us.

Raith Rovers v Rangers | Friday 19:45 | BT Sport 1

Rangers eh? When will this circus end? Not any time soon it seems. The Glasgow club have dropped to third in the Championship after losing to Hibs last Friday. But it's off-field meltdown that's the main distraction for this wounded club. I'd rather not go into it if you don't mind. I'm sure you know all about it.

Let's concentrate on on-field matters and pay tribute to Raith who are now unbeaten in seven in all competitions since two days after Christmas. Their list of results is impressive. A win and a draw against play-off chasing Falkirk, a draw at Easter Road against flying Hibs and of course a Scottish Cup victory over their opponents here.

Raith went off at 9/1 that day two weeks ago, and understandably there's no sight of quotes like that kicking about for this match. Grant Murray's men are best price 9/2 to win at Stark's Park. In truth their home form has been pretty patchy with just two wins from their last 10 home ground encounters.

Rangers go into this game on the back of three consecutive defeats and the humbling they suffered at the hands of deadly rivals Celtic three weeks ago may have shattered confidence.

Gers manager Kenny McDowall increasingly resembles the flustered demeanour of a man overhearing his daughter telling a friend she's now having sex with her boyfriend. Not one ounce of confidence, calmness or composure is oozing from his pasty overweight frame.

You have to go back to November 8th to find the last time Rangers beat a side in the Championship Top 6 and at 8/11 with Coral I'll swerve backing them on Friday. It's just too much of a risk at odds on.

My original plan was to back Under 2.5 Goals but I've changed my mind. I think while this whirlpool of uncertainty surrounds Rangers it makes sense to take them on at big prices.

Rovers are 9/2 with Bet365  and for a side unbeaten in seven and taking on a team with just two goals scored in their last four matches it's surely worth a punt. Grant Murray speaks of their desire to get into the Championship play-offs and while Rangers bleed and howl the 9/2 certainly winks at me.

Raith Rovers v Rangers – Raith Rovers to win (9/2 Bet365)

Do you reckon Chris Graham is on the right track here? Or is disrespecting Rangers too much?

  1. Will wait to see the line-ups before placing a bet on this match, If Rangers start the same 11 as last week then i can see them winning against Raith comfortably however if McCulloch,Simonsen and Black come back into the starting line-up for this game then Rangers will struggle however i still don’t think Raith will win.

    Sorry Chris! 😉

    P.S
Keep up the good work lads!

No worries Alex. Good to hear your views. Yeah Rangers evidently the better team, but while they’re under this dark cloud I’ll oppose them at big prices against the smaller teams in the Championship. Looking forward to the game!

Cheers for the kind words. Means a lot!
