OUR Scottish correspondent Willie Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) is dipping into League One this weekend for his best bet.

Airdrie v Dunfermline | Saturday 15:00

I’ve been scouring the Scottish coupon all week and I reckon I’ve found a gem here from League One.

I’m expecting a big show from Jim Jeffries’ Dunfermline side as they travel to take on Airdrie. The Diamonds just haven’t impressed me much this season.

The Pars fans have been moaning and mumping this campaign, but I fail to understand why. Dunfermline are two points off the top and have only lost four of their 15 fixtures. The November Stenhousemuir loss aside, the defeats haven’t been too bad.

Dunfermline were knocked out the Scottish Cup midweek, and often in Scotland when that happens, the rallying cry is to concentrate even harder on league matters. That’s how I see things working out for the Pars and their exit could be a blessing in disguise.

Opponents Airdrie are in terrible form just now, with one win in their last eight matches. They’ve been goal shy too, with three blanks in their last four games.

I’m fully expecting Dunfermline to pick up three points on Saturday. They hammered Airdrie 3-0 at East End Park earlier in the season and they’ll be hurting after their Cup exit.

I think they represent a cracking bet at Evens with BetVictor.
