WILLIE Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) was so excited about his Scottish bet this week that he ordered us to publish it THREE days early!
Queen Of The South v Brora Rangers | Saturday 15:00
I love a bit of Scottish Cup romance but there will be no room for that this weekend when Queen of the South welcome non-league Brora Rangers to Palmerston Park.
Queens are in a rich vein of form at present, having gone six matches without defeat, conceding just two goals in their last five games and I expect them to breeze past Brora this weekend.
Brora have scored plenty of goals themselves in recent weeks, enjoying six, seven and even eight goal victories but they won’t be playing the likes of Huntly or Deveronvale on Saturday – they are up against a side that is third in the Championship table on merit.
I can’t believe that Queens are as big as 1/3 to win this weekend, but delving a bit deeper, there is even more value to be had.
James Fowler’s side are 10/11 to lead at both half-time and full-time on Saturday while they can also be backed minus a goal in the handicap market at 10/11 this weekend.
It’s always difficult to choose between those two markets but I think that Queens’ superior fitness will be a big factor here. I expect that Brora will be determined – and they have plenty of top-level experience with the likes of Ross Tokely and Dave Mackay in their ranks. However, Queen of the South should prove to be too strong and I’d be surprised if they didn’t win with a bit to spare.
Therefore, I’m going to back Queens (-1) in the handicap market at 10/11 with Paddy Power as my best bet from Scotland this weekend – in fact, it might even be my best bet of the season so far!
Best Bet
Queen Of The South v Brora Rangers – Queen Of The South -1 (10/11 Paddy Power)
