Scottish Football Tip | 1st November 2014

AFTER yet another winner last week, Willie Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) is back to make the bookies suffer again this weekend.

Peterhead v Stranraer | Saturday 15:00

This week I'm looking to slay some demons. Those of you who follow my picks will know I've only been beaten three times this season as we head into November. Twice the losing tips were on League One matches, while the other was a Scottish Cup game. So what better way to destroy those bitter memories than getting involved with a Scottish Cup match involving two League One sides this weekend?

It's the match at Balmoor between Peterhead and Stranraer that I'm taking on, and I think the odds-compilers have got this the wrong way round. Stranraer at 19/10 with Ladbrokes have been priced up as outsiders despite the fact they've lost just one of their last nine matches. That defeat came on penalties against Championship side Livingston in the Petrofac Training Cup.

Stranraer took the lead that day from a goal scored by Jamie Longworth. The 27 year-old striker looks the real deal with seven goals in his last eight appearances and I've no doubt I'll be banging on about him again in another video this season. Longworth scored twice on Tuesday night as his side beat none other than Peterhead 5-0 in a League One clash! Can you see why I'm getting excited about the 19/10 quote now?

To be fair to Peterhead, they're a very decent side and we won't see a scoreline like that that's for sure. One thing that has to be taken into consideration at this level of Scottish football is the travel time, and I've no doubt Peterhead suffered on Tuesday night with their long trip south to Stranraer.

So with Stephen Aitken's side facing the same long trip north I'll turn down the 19/10 on The Blues and instead get with them on the Draw No Bet market at 11/10 with Ladbrokes.
