THERE'S a League One bet catching the eye of Hugh Wilson (@Hugh_Wilson) this week. Is he on the right track?
Colchester v Port Vale | Saturday 15:00
This week's game features two sides with recent managerial changes. Port Vale have appointed Rob Page as manager after he had a decent run as caretaker, while Tony Humes replaced Joe Dunne as top man at the U's.
Humes has done a smashing job so far at Colchester with just one defeat in seven league matches, and they're up in 14th in the League One table. Things look good at the Essex club just now with Freddie Sears banging seven goals in so far in 2014/15. They're certainly not struggling to net and I have to get involved with Coral's even-money quote on them notching Over 1.5 Goals on Saturday.
After beating Doncaster away in their opening league match of the season, Port Vale haven't won on their travels since. Five away defeats in their last seven is worrying for the club and to make matters worse they've leaked two or more in four of their last six road matches.
So with that in my mind, I have to be with Colchester here. Their stats haven't let me down either, with two or more scored in six of their last seven games. They're also beating decent sides, with Fleetwood and Chesterfield both slain 2-1 at home in recent weeks.
The 11/10 for Colchester to win looks fair, but I prefer the Evens with Coral that they score Over 1.5 Goals in this match.
