Serie A: A thriller forecast for Boxing Day in Rome

OUR man in Rome and resident Serie A expert Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) shares his best bets from Boxing Day's action in Italy.

Frosinone v Milan | Wednesday 26th December 2018, 11:30 | Eleven Sports

This is probably the last call for Gennaro Gattuso as head coach of Milan. The Rossoneri are stuck into an awful trend, being eliminated in the Europe League and losing 1-0 to Fiorentina at home.

Frosinone is one of the easiest away days in Serie A though (winless in eight games), and some good returns in midfield will be a boost for Milan.

Back the Rossoneri to win at decent price (4/6 Ladbrokes).

Atalanta v Juventus | Wednesday 26th December 2018, 14:00 | Eleven Sports

In my ratings, Atalanta is one of the hardest away days in the league. The Bergamaschi have a remarkable record at home, especially when facing big teams: they have just beaten Lazio 1-0, and only surrendered to Napoli in injury time.

But this time, Juventus have an edge due to Atalanta’s absentees. They will be without key men in the back line, and this could cost them a lot in terms of defensive solidity.

Take Juventus to score Over 1.5 Goals (21/20 Coral).

Bologna v Lazio | Wednesday 26th December 2018, 14:00

Lazio have showed a remarkable continuity when it comes to small teams. The Biancocelesti have proven to be a credible competitor for fourth place, getting most of their results against smaller sides.

No wonder Bologna is one of those matches they usually win, somehow, someway. Back the visitors to triumph at 8/11 (Betfair).

Sampdoria v Chievo | Wednesday 26th December 2018, 14:00

I am taking on Chievo again when they travel to Genova. The visitors have yet to record a win in Serie A, and despite their 1-1 draw against Inter could be a boost for their morale, I rate Sampdoria simply too good for them.

The home win appeals at 13/18 (Sportingbet).

Roma v Sassuolo | Wednesday 26th December 2018, 17:00 | Eleven Sports

Finally, we should have fun with Roma and Sassuolo playing at the Olimpico.

The visitors are one of the most entertaining sides of the league, showing an offensive style football, whilst Roma have been a mess defensively.

Simply back goals with Roma so unreliable this season. Over 2.5 Goals is 5/8 (188BET).

Sampdoria v Chievo – Sampdoria to win (13/18 Sportingbet)
