Wellington Phoenix v Perth Glory | Sunday 2nd December 2018, 06:00 | BT Sport

Perth Glory made some astute moves in the off-season, bringing in the likes of Chris Ikonomidis, Matthew Spiranovic and Juande, and this put them among the frontrunners for the Premiers Plate this season.

Those predictions have proved to be entirely accurate so far with Glory leading the league and looking every bit title contenders. They currently have the most goals scored and the best conversation rate in the division, and this weekend they travel to Wellington to take on the side currently lying ninth after picking up three losses in a row.

The hosts haven’t enjoyed a good season so far with just four points from their first five games, conceding nine goals along the way. The long distance between the sides looks to be the only advantage for Phoenix with Perth having an eight-hour flight to contend with.

Glory look to have enough about them to continue their great form though and at 5/4 (Bet365) are a good shout to more than double your money before you’ve even got out of bed on Sunday.

Melbourne City v Newcastle Jets | Sunday 2nd December 2018, 08:00 | BT Sport

Melbourne City look to be in turmoil with star striker Bruno Fornaroli apparently very unhappy after being denied a move to Sydney FC in the off-season. This is the third high profile player that has fallen out with head coach Warren Joyce, with both Neil Kilkenny and Tim Cahill both leaving the club under his tenure.

With that in mind, Newcastle Jets draw no bet looks good value at 41/20 (888) as Melbourne City look like they could struggle once again.

Neither side has set the world alight so far this season, with two losses in five games for each and that could lead to a tight game.

Newcastle Jets have been improving in recent weeks and they’ve been quite unlucky in three of their games deserving more against Melbourne Victory, Sydney and Adelaide. They’ll be hoping that changes this weekend against an out-of-sorts Melbourne City side that looked blunt and devoid of ideas against Brisbane Roar last weekend.

Best Bets

Wellington Phoenix v Perth Glory – Perth Glory to win (5/4 Bet365)

Melbourne City v Newcastle Jets – Newcastle Jets draw no bet (41/20 888)
