Dundee v Kilmarnock | Saturday 6th October 2018, 15:00

These are heady times to be a Kilmarnock fan. The appointment of Steve Clarke a year ago looked inspired at the time and it's certainly panned out that way. Killie finished 5th in the table last season and have made an excellent start to the new campaign.

Their headline result was an exhilarating downing of champions Celtic two weeks ago but in truth the Ayrshire side have performed well since the 2018/19 gates opened.

As well as Celtic, they've also beaten last season's runners-up Aberdeen and were unlucky against the Edinburgh sides. They lost 3-2 to Hibs with a number of decisions going against them and a red card scuppered their chances against Hearts back in August.

I was very sweet on Kilmarnock last week (tweeted about it) and they did the business by seeing off Motherwell 3-1 at home. I see no reason to desert them this weekend.

Disorganised Dundee

Steve Clarke's side face bottom of the table Dundee and are a shade odds on to win in the other side of the country. Dundee won their first league match of the season last weekend against Hamilton but the Accies missed a pile of chances and Neil McCann's side still look rocky.

Six league defeats out of seven and a League Cup KO against Championship Ayr have put McCann on the brink and a defeat here could send him over the edge with the international break coming up.

There's tales of disorganisation, poor communication and in-fighting at the Dens club and when you contrast that to a Kilmarnock side who are only looking up with their inspired manager by their side then there's only one thing to back on Saturday, and that's a Killie win.
