THE Daily Record's Mr Fixit (@mrfixittps) shares his best bets from the second weekend of the 2018/19 Scottish season.

Hearts v Celtic | Saturday 11th August 2018, 12:30 | Sky Sports

Celtic have Greece on their minds but first will try to stop Hearts enjoying a festival in Edinburgh.

Brendan Rodgers' side face a daunting Champions League trip on Tuesday and will be keen to escape the capital with no damage done to personnel or points totals.

Craig Levein rebuilt the Jambos in the summer and they've netted 14 goals in three games against Cowdenbeath, Inverness and Hamilton to boost morale.

The visit of Celtic is though is their first major test and the champions will be well backed on accumulators at 4/7 with Ladbrokes.

However, I fancy going for goals with Hearts' confidence on the up and this fixture producing 17 goals in four meetings last season. One of those of course was a 4-0 romp that handed Rodgers his first domestic defeat and the Jambos are a biggest 5/1 at Bet365 while a draw pays 31/10 with William Hill.

The best bet is both to score and Over 2.5 Goals at 34/25 with Marathon.

Livingston v Kilmarnock | Saturday 11th August 2018, 15:00

Killie started where they left off last season with victory against St Johnstone in their league opener and should see off promoted Livingston.

Kenny Miller's league debut as Livi player-manager ended in a 3-1 defeat at Celtic which could easily have been heavier and it looks like a season of struggle ahead for the top-flight new boys.

Killie have done well to keep hold of top gaffer Stevie Clarke and can take the points at 13/10 with Coral.

Dumbarton v Forfar | Saturday 11th August 2018, 15:00

Dumbarton have dropped down from the Championship but retained key men and added talented signings in Ross Forbes and Rory Loy from the division they've just departed.

That quality should make the difference at League One level and the Sons can make it two wins from two against a Forfar side beaten 3-1 at home by Airdrie.

Take a Dumbarton win at 4/5 with Marathon.

Best Bets

Hearts v Celtic – Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score (34/25 Marathon)

Livingston v Kilmarnock – Kilmarnock to win (13/10 Coral)

Dumbarton v Forfar – Dumbarton to win (4/5 Marathon)
