EFL Cup – Hornets to come unstuck in royal encounter

FOOTBALL LEAGUE tipster Ross Casey (@rosscasey24) pinpoints three plays of attack for Wednesday night's League Cup coupon.

Everton v Rotherham | Wednesday 29th August 2018, 19:45

Everton are a very short price to win this one with a best price of just 2/9. This is despite the fact they will be without star man Richarlison who was foolishly sent off for an off the ball incident last weekend.

It is little surprise however, considering Rotherham have lost both of their away matches this season and conceded seven goals in the process.

Interestingly, Everton have netted three goals in each of their last three home games against the Millers and I think they can do the same here – even without their mercurial Brazilian.

Let's not forget, some great players such as Bernard can take his place. Therefore, my selection here is Everton -2 with BetVictor at 13/8.

Millwall v Plymouth | Wednesday 29th August 2018, 19:45

Millwall have always been a side that have thrived on home advantage and I think that will be key here in this fixture. The Lions have won just one match this season and that has come at home against an impressive Derby team.

Plymouth will take some confidence from the fact they defeated Bristol City at Ashton Gate and Gillingham managed a draw at Millwall before losing on penalties in the first round, but for me Neil Harris will be looking for a dominant performance here from his Millwall players.

Millwall have not lost any of their last 16 home games against Plymouth and have lost just one of their last 20 on home soil.

Get Millwall to win to nil with a price of 29/20 with BetVictor.

Reading v Watford | Wednesday 29th August 2018, 19:45

Watford have had an excellent start to their season with a maximum nine points secured from their opening three games. They will fancy their chances of beating a Reading side that have only won one of their opening six games.

However, after two draws on the road against Blackburn and Aston Villa I think that the Royals look value in the Asian Handicap market with a positive +0.25 start.

Watford have been great so far this season, but could well get caught by a Reading side looking to build upon some better results of late.

The Hornets have had a poor record in the League Cup of late and you get the impression it simply isn't a competition they are interested in and that will play into our bet too.

Best Bets

Everton v Rotherham – Everton -2 handicap (13/8 BetVictor)

Millwall v Plymouth – Millwall to win to nil (29/20 BetVictor)

Reading v Watford – Reading +0.25 Asian Handicap (53/50 bet365)
