Horse Racing – A wonderful pair to keep on side this Saturday

HORSE RACING boff Graeme Johnston (@GraemeJ_83) picks out his best bets from the action on Saturday 21st July.

3:00pm Newbury| Hackwood Stakes | ITV

The Hackwood Stakes is a 6 furlong group 3 and this is a fine renewal. Plenty of high class form on offer and a few of these still have hopes of making it to the top tier of sprinting, and I'm siding with one I feel is still improving.

I'm a big fan of Invincible Army and I gave him a chance in the July Cup, a race he was unfortunately withdrawn from. He was hugely progressive up until running below expectations in the Commonwealth Cup, however he got worked up before hand and that can be written off.

I believe he is a group one sprinter in the making and last time was only the second time in his career he's been out of the place money so he is generally a reliable sort. It's a good race, however I feel he will reward an each way investment today.

4:20pm Curragh | Anglesey Stakes |

The Anglesey stakes is a 6 furlong group 3 and contains some very promising juvenile fillies. There isn't much in the way of high class form, more untapped potential, and there is one I feel is destined for the top.

Just Wonderful ran no sort of race when favourite for the Albany Stakes however I'm more than willing to forgive her for that. She was heavily backed ahead of her stablemate who was a previous listed winner so she is obviously very highly regarded.

Her maiden win has been very well franked with the runner up hacking up in a maiden and the third running with credit in group races so she is clearly talented. This looks a prime opportunity for her to gain her first group win.

Best Bets

3:00pm Newbury – Invincible Army each-way (7/1 Unibet)

4:20pm Curragh – Just Wonderful (7/4 Bet365)
