If this year’s fixtures are anything to go by, both games will be a tight affair. The Grecians beat Lincoln in the home game 1-0 in August, whilst the Imps defeated Exeter in their home game 3-2.

Lincoln made sure of their spot on the last day of the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Yeovil. The same score line at Mansfield meant that the Stags would miss out on the playoffs and Danny Cowley’s side would have a chance at successive promotions.

Exeter’s play-off spot was guaranteed a few weeks ago as they finished the season in fourth, missing out on automatic promotion by just four points. Exeter will be hoping to go one better this season as they missed out on promotion last year at the hands of Blackpool in the 2017 Playoff final.

Both games in the season finished with the home side winning by a single goal. With this being the first game of the Play-offs, this could be a cagey affair with either team settling for a one goal advantage going into the second leg. If this season’s form is anything to go by, Lincoln will be going into the second leg with a very slender lead. They’re 5/2 to beat Exeter by one goal with Sky Bet.

Standing in the way of Lincoln’s promotion bid will by Exeter’s top scorer Jaydon Stockley. The already well travelled 24 year old has scored 18 goals for the Grecians this season and has rocketed them into the play-offs. With five goals in his last five matches, 21/10 with Betfair could make things a lot more interesting.
