Whilst Antonio Conte’s side have been fairly successful at home of late, it’s fair to suggest they’ve been lacking a cutting edge, even in the matches they’ve been victorious. Therefore, it’s reasonable to expect them to struggle when heading to the King Power Stadium.

That being said, I’m not suggesting Leicester are going to be triumphant here from the off. The match needs to be looked into more before coming to that conclusion. After all, with Champions League elimination recently and the Premier League title a complete formality, the FA Cup is a real opportunity for Chelsea to get their hands on some silverware this season.

Silverware

Leicetser recently brought an end to a baron run when they defeated West Brom 4-1 last weekend, but with the Baggies current performances it isn’t something we should focus on too much. Despite this, it does display Leicester’s ability in front of goal, which should really worry Chelsea.

The Foxes, for the next few seasons at least, will be keen to display that the solitary Premier League win was no fluke and getting another taste of European football. Sitting just three points away from Burnley in the table, football on the continent is a real possibility for Claude Puel’s side.

However, what would be a bigger statement is winning the FA Cup, and with Manchester City eliminated from the competition it really opens the floor to everybody left in these late stages.

Leicester have a completely fully fit squad to choose from in this match, and Chelsea come off the back off a drubbing in Barcelona, so they head into this match fresher. For a side who traditionally attack with such volatility, this could really pay dividends.

The betting

Chelsea, whilst being above EVS, are just too short for me to consider putting my money anywhere near them. Whilst it’s obviously true the Blues are the better team on paper, Conte is continuously under pressure and their form on the road is shocking of late.

Considering the Foxes are at home and the odds they’re currently marked up at, I have to side with them in the betting. Whilst I’m not confident enough to go with the straight win, I fancy the +0.5 handicap for the hosts. Please note, +0.5 handicap pre-match works the same as double chance. If your bookmaker offers both lines, check if there’s an price difference as there usually is!

Best Bets

Leicester v Chelsea – Leicester +0.5 Asian Handicap (4/5 bet365)
