Livingston v Falkirk | Saturday 2nd December 2017, 15:00

My selection this weekend comes from the Scottish Championship as surprise title challengers Livingston host relegation-threatened Falkirk.

Livi have surprised most this season on their return to the Championship; instead of fighting it out at the bottom of the table, they sit in third and only four points off the top.

The Lions lost 3-1 in midweek to St Mirren but at half-time they led 1-0 and were sitting top of the second-tier tree. The hosts have suffered a sole reverse at home in league and cup games this season.

Falkirk were one of my league favourites after pushing Hibs and Rangers in previous seasons but it’s been a horrible campaign for them. Automatic relegation looks to be taken by Brechin already but the play-off place is a big possibility for the Bairns if things don’t improve soon.

Paul Hartley replaced Peter Houston in late September and things started reasonably well but they’re now on a run of seven games without a win. The Barins have lost their last three games and failed to score in all three.

The two sides have met twice already this season with Livingston coming out on top in both and I’m hoping that run continues with another victory on Saturday at 23/20 (BlackType).
