St Johnstone v Celtic | Sunday 12:30 | Sky Sports 1
I'm going to stick my neck out and make a bold prediction – Celtic are going to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Okay, fair enough; given that the Hoops have now opened up a 25-point advantage at the top of the table, I'm willing to accept that my prediction isn't all that bold.
Brendan Rodgers' side have, bar two dropped points against Inverness Caledonian Thistle back in September, had things entirely their own way on the domestic scene so far this season.
Can St Johnstone stop Celtic's record-breaking unbeaten run and pick up three points in Perth on Sunday afternoon? Probably not; Tommy Wright's team, though, are certainly more than capable of making a game of it at McDiarmid Park.
The Saints, unbeaten in five at home, are pushing for a place in the top four this term and, having found the net in all but one of their previous 12 home matches in all competitions, Wright's team will feel that they can trouble Celtic.
Rodgers' side have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last eight games, but the Hoops have lost two goals in both of their most recent matches at McDiarmid Park.
The odds compilers offer a super skinny 6/10 that St Johnstone score a goal, but Stan James offer a supremely generous even money quote for both teams to find the net.
On the evidence that we've seen so far this season, that particular selection hinges almost entirely on the hosts and I'm more than happy to take a chance on the Saints rippling the rigging on Sunday afternoon.
The notion that Celtic will fail to find the net in this match is almost absurd and, so, if St Johnstone score, punters will surely pile up the profit.
It is, therefore, the outstanding even money quote from Stan James for goals at both ends when Celtic make the trip to McDiarmid Park that is my best bet from Scotland this weekend.
