Correct Score: Palace provide resistance in pick of Wednesday forecasts

CORRECT SCORE specialist Daniel McCulloch (@danmcc84) delivers his best bets from Wednesday's Premier League coupon.

Crystal Palace v Manchester United | Wednesday 20:00 | BT Sport 1

With goals flowing so freely at both ends recently, it has been very tough to pick a Crystal Palace result.

United have hardly been a punters friend either as they have failed to beat Burnley, Stoke and West Ham despite battering each of them. It may appear somewhat surprising then for me to choose this game as a correct score opportunity.

There is some logic behind this, however. United's games in particular have been very tight. Just two of their last nine league games have seen them either win or lose by more than a goal.

Moreover, four of their 14 league games to date have finished 1-1, suggesting the 7/1 BetVictor are offering on said score line is very favourable.

United may nick it but I don't trust them to keep a clean sheet against a Palace side who have scored in all but one of their last dozen league games. Instead, have a saver on 2-1 United, once again 8/1 with BetVictor.

Some of you may notice that this is a repeat of Tuesday night's TV tip so expect Damien Delaney to pop up with an 87th minute winner and break this column's heart!

Middlesbrough v Liverpool | Wednesday 19:45

Quite simply; I believe Middlesbrough 1-2 Liverpool is the most likely score.

Liverpool are the better side but cannot be trusted to keep a clean sheet. Moreover, Boro have conceded more than two goals only once all season.

Additionally, Boro's most common loss at The Riverside has been 2-1 (to Tottenham and Palace respectively) whilst Liverpool's most common victory has been this same score.

Bet365 are offering 8/1 on them both achieving this feat for a third time this season.

Manchester City v Watford | Wednesday 20:00

Last weekend I wrote that I expected a 3-1 Manchester City victory to be the most common result for the Citizens this season.

Indeed, despite Saturday's absolutely humiliating performance against Leicester, I do still believe they can limit Watford to one!

City have already recorded two victories by this margin in the Premier League this season and at 11/1 with Betfair, I think they are value to make it three on Wednesday night.

West Brom v Swansea | Wednesday 20:00

Gylfi Sigurdsson to score first and Swansea to win 1-0 against West Bro is 50/1 (BetVictor) – as an Albion fan, I hate doing this but value is value!

Only a Solomon Rondon’s equaliser with the last kick of the game prevented this from coming in last season.

50/1 is a huge price in what is very likely to be a game settled by a single goal.
