NFL boff Tom Selwyn (@Tom_Selwyn) returns to cover Monday Night Football as the Giants welcome the Bengals.

While looking at this game, I was able to come up with reasons for either of these two inconsistent teams winning this game so I think I’ll be steering clear of the result and going back to a player based bet.

Bengals tight-end Tyler Eifert is my focus this week and I think he’s more than capable of going Over the 50.5 receiving yards line in this one at 17/20 (Ladbrokes).

Eifert back in business

After managing to get injured during last season’s Pro Bowl (don’t think he’ll be going back to that), Eifert made his return two games ago, but due to being eased back into the line-up for the first game he didn’t really impact the stat sheet.

It was his second game back where he truly returned, catching nine balls for 102 yards and a touchdown versus the Redskins – double the amount he’s been set for tonight’s matchup against the Giants.

Giants vulnerable

I think he’s set to have success as the Giants are ranked 25th against the pass (277.4 yards per-game) and have given up over 50 yards to TEs in five of their eight games this season.

The three games that missed the target involved TEs that are not in Eifert’s class – Fleener of the Saints, Rodgers of the Packers and Pitta of the Ravens. With one of the best WRs in the game in A.J. Green taking away the coverage, I think he should see more than enough targets and space on the field to go over.

Tyler to touchdown

I’m also interested in the price offered up for Eifert to score an Anytime Touchdown (7/4 SkyBet). He’s a bit of a Red Zone specialist and, along with the one he picked up last week, scored 13 TDs last season.

At odds-against, I think it’s worth a go.

Best Bets

Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Giants – Tyler Eifert to have Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (17/20 Ladbrokes)

Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Giants – Tyler Eifert to score a touchdown (7/4 SkyBet)
