LOUIS Ross (@LouisRoss67) is back with his best bets for Sunday's NFL action.

Atlanta Falcons @ Jacksonville Jaguars | Sunday 18:00

Not quite a video from Venice but I write this on my way to Manchester to do the old Christmas present swap thing with the in-laws. Glamorous eh? On to my favourite subject this season, the Atlanta Falcons.

I loved Atlanta early on as they raced to a 5-0 start. Then something happened. They have won just a single game since and reached rock bottom last Sunday when blown away by Carolina. There are parts of the defence that are working reasonably well but the issue for this franchise has been turning the ball over as 26 giveaways is a disaster at this level.

This week they feature against my NAP once again. I have to admit that I never imagined having the Jacksonville Jaguars as a pick in this column let alone the best bet of the week.

Still not the best Defence in the world but the offence has been as hot as anyone in the NFL in recent weeks. That culminated in Blake Bortles putting 50 points on the board last weekend.

In a fairly quiet way, the Jags have also found themselves with an outstanding pair of receivers in the two Allens, Robinson & Hurns who have put 20 Touchdowns on the board this season.

The line is set widely at -3 for the Jags. I see them carrying on with the big totals and Atlanta simply cannot keep up with them. A bigger win for me and I am going for the juicy 11/8 offered by Skybet on the Jags -5.5

Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens | Sunday 18:00

Ravens coach John Harbaugh has called Kansas, the hottest team in football. A little over the top maybe but here's something that may surprise you, both these teams started the season 1-5.

After losing Jamaal Charles, it was hard to imagine Kansas winning another game. This after all was a team that went over a year without a touchdown from a wide receiver. A crazy stat that reflected badly on the more than decent Alex Smith.

There is many a top team built on defence. One like Kansas have really can take you into the post season. Now sitting at 8-5 after an incredible run, this 8th ranked unit has 18 INTs on the season. Compare that to the four of the Ravens.

It is hard to be to tough on this Baltimore side. The majority of the seasons losses have been by less than a single score but as the season has gone on, no team has been affected more by injuries (Joe Flacco, Justin Fotsett, Terrell Suggs, Steve Smith). In football terms that is the entire spine of a very decent team.

I would honestly like to write about a game where I could praise both teams in equal measure but something like this is far easier in betting terms.

The Chiefs keep finding a way to win and have options all over the field. Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware running the thing with Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelcie great options for Smith to throw it to. This has Chiefs win written all over it. A 6.5 favourite against a team with Jimmy Clausen under centre. Take it!

Best Bets

Atlanta Falcons @ Jacksonville Jaguars – Jacksonville Jaguars -5.5 (11/8 Skybet)

Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens – Kansas City Chiefs -6.5 (20/21 Coral)

I have been interested in betting since a stint managing a bookmakers 20 years ago. I now work in the travel industry but spend 90% of my day thinking (and talking)about sport. Rarely missing an Arsenal home game, I still find time for my 25 year obsession with the NFL and the Chicago Bears in particular. I'm still stuck in the 80's and can't find anything better to listen to than The Jam or The Smiths. I am a stats junkie where the NFL is concerned and there is no sport in the world where they matter more. My mission is to convert you all to a wonderful sport. Oh and win a few quid along the way.
