LOUIS Ross (@LouisRoss67) talks us through his punting approach to Thursday night’s NFL clash between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.

Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets | Friday 01.25 | Sky Sports 1

Ten months after the Jets finally lost patience with Rex Ryan, the game many in New Jersey and most of upstate New York have been waiting for.

The good thing here is that apart from the Ryan factor, this is a proper contest with very real play-off implications. The 5-3 Jets have the slight edge over the 4-4 Bills but with a better divisional record, the Bills will take a lead on their opponents with a road win.

I like New York in this game because of their defence and the erratic form of the Bills. Getting taken apart by the Miami Dolphins, as these Bills were three games back, was something for the notebook.

Tyrod Taylor is a rapidly improving QB but the heralded Buffalo defence has not really been a factor through Week 9. Whilst the Jets D ranks fourth overall ,it is surprising to see a Rex Ryan defence as low as 16th.

Offensive stats do not do Buffalo any favours, either. It is the Jets, for me, but probably in a low scoring game. My betting tip here may seem like a leap of faith but bear with me, I can justify it…

Chris Ivory started the season on fire and a quick look at his stats will show that in the last three weeks, his production has slowed right down. Rushing lines of 166 and 146 yards mid-season have been followed by 41, 17 and 26 yards respectively.

Look closer at those numbers though. They came against New England, Oakland and Jacksonville. Respectively, these teams are ranked against the run in third, eighth and seventh. No surprise that his numbers suffered then.

The Bills rank quite highly against the run themselves and Ivory may find 50-60 yards to be his limit in this game. Ladbrokes’ Total Rushing and Receiving line of 80.5 is highly attractive.

Ivory catches a pass or two here and there with recent totals of 22 and 24 yards. I like Ivory. He is a talent, for sure, and can have a big influence on this game.

Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets – Chris Ivory: Over 80.5 total yards (10/11 Ladbrokes)
