Maccabi Tel Aviv v Chelsea | Tuesday 19:45 | BT Sport 2

A London side taking on very poor opposition in the Champions League on Tuesday? Yeah, I've already looked at the Arsenal game but here's another example of that as Maccabi Tel Aviv meet Chelsea.

Perhaps there's a sense in the air that Chelsea's awful season might be starting to turn round. They've now won two of their last three matches (Dynamo Kiev and Norwich) and the defeat that sandwiched those victories was a harsh one at Stoke.

If they're looking a quick win to keep the confidence flowing then this is the perfect game for them. Maccabi Tel Aviv look like one of the worst sides to have qualified for the group stages and should be beaten here.

Somehow this side managed to squeeze past Basle on away goals in the play-off round but since then have been woeful in the group phase with four defeats out of four.

The Israeli outfit have conceded 11 goals and scored just one in this group and Chelsea sluiced past them 4-0 in the reverse fixture. They also lost 3-1 at home to Porto and 2-0 in Israel to Dynamo Kiev.

Jose Mourinho has claimed his players are “getting their confidence back” and this is the perfect platform for them to push on further and be in great shape for the weekend.

I'm happy to back Chelsea -1.5 here at a fairly generous 22/19 with BetVictor. Maccabi have lost by more than one goal in both their home group games and Chelsea can make it three.
