NFL is back! Here Louis Ross (@LouisRoss67) gives us his best bets for Week 1.

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears | Sunday 18:00 | Sky Sports 1

I have loved the Chicago Bears since I first got into the game a very long time ago and they were the first Super Bowl champions I really saw in depth. This bit hurts.

Chicago are in a mess. Jay Cutler is a talented if inconsistent Quarterback. Brandon Marshall has gone to the Jets, Alshon Jeffrey is injured, Kevin White done for the season.

Defence is nowhere near the force it was a couple of years ago. First up? Green Bay. Ouch. My pick to win the whole thing. Aaron Rodgers and his crew. best QB in the game in my eyes. A running game that is really coming together. A very good Defence. What is there not to like?

In this game, I cannot think of anything. Really did not want to do this but Packers -7 is the play. So these are my three to kick off the weekend. I will post a couple more for the late Sunday games. Good luck all. Football is BACK!

Indianapolis Colts @ Buffalo Bills | Sunday 18:00

Most of you will be making Indy favourite for the AFC and it's not difficult to see why. Andrew Luck is a future great and now has a few weapons added to his Offence. The loss of Reggie Wayne has been adequately covered by the arrival of Andre Johnson from Houston. Johnson will certainly be fitter than Reggie was last season.

TY Hilton is capable of a huge year. He needs that really. He has Luck throwing bombs to him and Anytime TD from him is a bet I like here. Frank Gore comes in from his legendary career with the 49ers. Initially, I thought he may be the final piece of the puzzle to turn these guys into serious contenders but Frank wasn't great last year.

Defence will be an issue but surely they have enough for the Bills? Buffalo has always been a bit of a drama and more so now Rex Ryan is in town. The Bills are at home which is a plus but Tyrod Taylor at QB?

CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson have moved on and the Backfield is now dominated by Shady McCoy. Heres a guy capable of a 200 yard game and also a 2 yard game. I'm  going to repeat myself here, opening weekend is a tough betting proposition always and I'm playing safe here. Indy should have far too much and cover the -2.5 easily.

Best Bets

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears – Green Bay -7 (Evens Bet365)

Indianapolis Colts @ Buffalo Bills – Indianapolis -2.5 (37/40 BetVictor)

I have been interested in betting since a stint managing a bookmakers 20 years ago. I now work in the travel industry but spend 90% of my day thinking (and talking)about sport. Rarely missing an Arsenal home game, I still find time for my 25 year obsession with the NFL and the Chicago Bears in particular. I'm still stuck in the 80's and can't find anything better to listen to than The Jam or The Smiths. I am a stats junkie where the NFL is concerned and there is no sport in the world where they matter more. My mission is to convert you all to a wonderful sport. Oh and win a few quid along the way.
