Horse Racing – O’Meara’s man to run a massive race at Goodwood

HORSE RACING boff Graeme Johnston (@GraemeJ_83) picks out his best bet from Tuesday's card at Glorious Goodwood.

3:00 Goodwood | Lennox Stakes | ITV

The Lennox Stakes is a Group 2 over seven furlongs and it's always a hugely competitive race with this year's renewal looking no different. Twelve line-up and all have solid form in the book at one stage or another, but I only have eyes for one of them.

Tip Two Win (9/2 BetBright) is the least exposed member of the field and the only three-year-old going to post. He was second in the 2000 Guineas, which makes him of huge interest, and his fourth in the St James Palace Stakes confirmed it's no fluke. However, this is a high-class field and another appeals more.

Sir Dancealot (11/2 Coral) is a good yardstick and his fourth in the July Cup last time out was a career best. This is his ideal trip and he'll enjoy the ground, however his only previous visit here resulted in a heavy defeat and I'm taking him on.

The one I'm backing here is Suedois (6/1 William Hill). In my opinion, he's the best horse in the race and doesn't get the respect he deserves.

A Group 1 winner last year, he gets better as the season goes on generally and ran a huge race in the Summer Mile behind two solid yardsticks. He led a furlong out and I suspect this is his optimum now.

I'm expecting David O'Meara's man to run a massive race here.

Best Bets

3:00 Ascot – Suedois (6/1 William Hill)

I grew up watching Hearts games with my dad and playing football at every opportunity so betting on it was the logical next step! Football coupons became a Saturday ritual and it introduced me into the world of horse racing. I started watching it on a regular basis, and after Galileo's Derby win in 2001 I was hooked. I follow both flat and national hunt racing attending the northern meetings when possible.
