THE FA Cup continues this weekend and Daniel McCulloch (@danmcc94) shares his best bets for Wigan Athletic v Southampton.

Wigan entertain Southampton in Sunday's lunch time kick off, in a match that will hold few fears for The Latics.
Paul Cook's men have already knocked out Bournemouth, West Ham and soon-to-be Premier League Champions Manchester City in this competition so they will surely go into this game full of confidence.

They have actually won all three of the home ties with that opposition to nil so it may seem fairly illogical for me to back Southampton to beat them!

The Saints have won just one of their last 17 league games and it was a little surprising that Mauricio Pellegrino kept his job for so long given their struggles when Claude Puel was sacked after an eighth placed finish and reaching a League Cup final.

Mark Hughes has taken the reigns at St Mary's and while his main aim will be to ensure that these two aren't in the same division next season, he will want to get his reign off to a positive start. Losing to League Two opposition ultimately cost the Welshman his job and a loss to League One Wigan won't go down well with Southampton fans, many of whom do not believe he should have been given the job in the first place.

Wigan actually went off favourites at home to Bournemouth and West Ham but that is because both those sides rested plenty of players. I do not expect Hughes to do that here. He will want his tenure to get off to a positive start and for all their issues, I do believe The Saints are a class apart here. Backing the 11/10 on an away win with BetVictor therefore looks the way to go for me.

I expect a low scoring match as Hughes will surely adopt a cautious approach and The pitch at The DW Stadium is pretty poor. However, a price of 13/20 on under 2.5 goals is prohibitive so I will only back a Saints victory.
