St Mirren v Queen of the South | Saturday 3rd February 2018, 15:00

My selection this weekend comes from the Scottish Championship as runaway leaders St Mirren host Queen of the South on Saturday.

Saints stretched their lead to 11 points last weekend after an excellent victory away at Dunfermline. The Buddies are in excellent form, unbeaten in their last eight league outings, winning seven of them (W7-D1-L0).

At home, the hosts have only lost once this term and that was a game they played with 10 men for the majority of the match.

Queen of the South sit in fifth, just outside the play-off places. Their form has been inconsistent and that’s hampered their hopes of clinching a play-off berth.

In Steven Dobbie the have the top scorer in the division and will always have a chance when they possess someone of that quality. But Saints are the real deal and should have more than enough to keep their winning run going.

St Mirren have won both fixtures this season already and I expect them to make it three out of three on Saturday. They’re 51/50 (Marathon) to do so.
