Dundee United v Crusaders | Saturday 11th November 2017, 13:00

My selection this weekend comes the Scottish Challenge Cup quarter-finals as Dundee United host Northern Ireland’s Crusaders on Saturday.

United were Championship title favourites this season and although their form has been up and down so far, they sit joint-top of the table with St Mirren after beating title rivals Saints 2-1 last weekend.

This week they appointed ex-Hearts manger Csaba Laszlo as their new boss and he will take charge of his first game on Saturday.

United played their reserves in the last round as the beat Northern Ireland champions Linfield 1-0 but with it being Laszlo’s first game in charge, I can’t see him making any changes from the side that’s won their last two games.

Crusaders sit third in Irish league and are in decent form themselves; they’ve had a fairly routine route through this cup competition though, knocking out Motherwell U20s and Highland League side Cove Rangers.

Saturday’s kick-off has been moved to 1pm, not for TV purposes but because Crusaders are flying in the morning of the game and couldn’t get a late return flight home so the early start allows them to catch the last flight home! Hardly ideal preparation, eh?

The fact the Arabs will be playing their best XI in Laszlo first fixture should make the hosts too strong for their part-time visitors.
