OUR man in Italy, Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) looks to continue his hot streak in Serie A with his best Saturday selections.
Empoli v Pescara | Saturday 14:00
Empoli v Pescara is a potential tiebreaker in the relegation battle.
A win here for Empoli would mean almost certainly they will be safe, also considering that Palermo and Crotone, who are the main credible rivals, will play against Inter and AC Milan, almost certainly getting no points.
Pescara are in the most difficult situation, sitting at the bottom of the table and nine points behind Empoli, and that is why they will desperately look for a win here, trying to give some sense to the rest of their season.
Despite having lost four of their last five, Pescara have showed some improvement at least in their recent draw against AC Milan, and if they might barely have a chance to put up a fight that chance is here.
I will play this match in two different ways: I will side with Pescara avoiding a defeat at 68/67 (188BET), while also considering a routine bet on the Over 2.5 goals market, which is more suitable to a multiple bet at 17/25 (Marathon).
Atalanta v Sassuolo | Saturday 17:00
Atalanta’s incredible run is here to continue, and that horrible 7-1 loss against Inter has been confirmed to be only an accident. In their recent two outcomes they trashed away Pescara 3-0, and more importantly Genoa 5-0 on their ground.
Also, their chances against Sassuolo should be credited, but sincerely the bookies are a little underpricing them with odds up to 1/2 for a home win – that really doe not represent value.
What I like to bet here is goals, considering the two teams natural trends. Sassuolo do not love a defensive game, as showed by their numbers. In 2017, they’ve suffered in all but three games, while also having a scoring record. Sassuolo have scored in away games against Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli, Lazio and Milan among others.
For this reason I trust their abilities to score. And if it is true that Atalanta have keep sheets clean in each of their last five at home, this has not been the trend of their season as in the previous part of their season they have conceded in 70% of their matches.
