When Real Sociedad travel to the Butarque this weekend, they’ll be facing a Leganes side that have the worst home form in La Liga. However, Eusebio’s travellers have only recorded one win from three on the road.

On paper, Leganes home return (W0-D1-L3) doesn’t make for good reading. But when you look at the results and their opponents, you start to get a clearer understanding of why they’ve struggled.

Leganes’ first home fixture came against Atletico Madrid, before games against Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla. With three of those sides in the title picture this season, you can’t help but have some sympathy for the newcomers.

Then again the same excuses can be made for Real Sociedad with the Basques already visiting Eibar, Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao this term. As you can tell, going into this fixture it’s hard to separate the two sides.

I do believe though, that the advantage lies with the away side. Sociedad come into this encounter following a 3-0 win against Alaves and Willian Jose has found his goalscoring boots once more.

Elsewhere, Carlos Vela and Mikel Oyarzabal will flank the striker, both provide real attacking intent and quality – they’ve a combined four assists and three goals this season.

The backline of Leganes hasn’t exactly been watertight this season, conceding 17 goals, whilst they’ve scored just nine. The quality of La Real should shine through in this one putting them into a Europa League spot, at least for a night.

The Real Sociedad win is best priced at 9/5 with BetVictor.
