OUR man in Rome Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) returns to WLB for the new season with his best bets for Sunday's matches.

Inter Milan v Juventus | Sunday 17.00 | BT Sport 2

Inter are probably in their worst period since the Walter Mazzari-era.

The acquisition of Frank De Boer has not had a positive impact, with the Nerazzurri just beaten 2-0 at home against Hapoel Beer Sheva.

The Dutch coach does not seem to have clear ideas on his players, with Ivan Perisic, Joao Mario and Antonio Candreva often played out of position. His mentality seems to be too defensive, creating little chances and having trouble when in possession.

On the other end, you find the best club in Italian football, Juventus, who had a tremendous summer transfer window and had a merciless run to finish their 2015-16 season.

I cannot see Inter being able to put up some resistance to Juve’s strength and I am happy to find the Bianconeri at 10/11 (William Hill) playing against a side in so much strife.

Fiorentina v Roma | Sunday 19.45 | BT Sport 2

Rollercoaster Roma travel to Florence after a stoppage-time with a stunning performance from old master captain Francesco Totti last weekend.

However, the Giallorossi’s defensive issues are still not solved with the likes of Juan Jesus, Emerson Palmieri and Bruno Peres struggling when they have asked to defend.

Attacking is the only option for Luciano Spalletti so far, as he relies on everything from his winger and forwards.

Going to Fiorentina will be no different on Sunday night, especially when the hosts have a similar mentality and similar offensive qualities in the team.

Last season this match produced eight goals across two games and I expect here the same result so Over 2.5 Goals at 13/15 (Marathon) stands out.

Sassuolo v Empoli | Sunday 14.00

Sassuolo are probably the most exciting surprise of Italian football so far.

Trashing Alethic Bilbao at home is something, especially when this is your first Europa League group-stage game!

This club has mentality and this is what I admire a lot from the team – even against Juventus, Sassulo they had no worries playing high on the pitch, even though this resulted in a 3-1 loss.

Genoa are another exciting side with an offensive mentality. Quality in midfield and in attack guarantees them a lot of goals despite some defensive concerns still not solved.

For this reason I think this will be a high-scoring match, with both of the teams unhappy to leave possession and control of the game. Both Teams To Score is 5/6 (Marathon)

Torino v Empoli | Sunday 14.00 | BT Sport ESPN

Despite having lost some big names, Torino had a significant transfer window this summer:

Joe Hart is something like a gem for a mid-table club in Italy and I rate them to finish very high despite a not convincing start.

I’m not sure home coach Sinisa Mijalovic will have mercy on Empoli. The Tuscan side is one of the weakest in the entire league and I even expect them to struggle to avoid relegation.

A home win is 7/9 (Marathon).

Best Bets

Inter Milan v Juventus – Juventus to win (10/11 William Hill)

Fiorentina v Roma – Over 2.5 Goals (13/15 Marathon)

Sassuolo v Genoa – Both Teams To Score (5/6 188BET)

Torino v Empoli – Torino to win (7/9 Marathon)
