MARK O’HAIRE’S (@MarkOHaire) analysed Monday night’s La Liga contest between Levante and Las Palmas to unearth the best value bet.

Levante v Las Palmas | Monday 19.30 | Sky Sports 3

Rock-bottom Levante have been chalked up as 7/5 (Betfred) favourites here and whilst that might look strange to outsiders, the Frogs have at least shown signs of a revival in recent weeks.

Five points from safety before play and with five league losses in six, Rubi’s troops may look like a lost cause to some. But Levante were only nine minutes away from holding Atletico Madrid in the capital on the 2 January and have since defeated fellow strugglers Rayo before narrowly losing out to Celta Vigo in a 4-3 thriller last weekend.

Although the Frogs have struck five goals across those two outings, the club announced the capture of Giuseppe Rossi and the injury-plagued forward could be in line for a debut. Whether he does or doesn’t, I still expect the hosts to get on the scoresheet.

Levante’s tally of nine home goals is the second fewest in the Spanish top-flight but they’ve fired in at least 10 attempts on goal in all bar two of their 10 Ciutat de Valencia encounters with four or more shots-on-target landed in exactly half.

However, the hosts have managed just one clean sheet in 10 attempts on home turf and going back to last season, 11 of their most recent 19 in front of their home supporters have produced at least three goals.

Visitors Las Palmas boast La Liga’s worst away record (W0-D3-L6) and the newly-promoted club saw their decent recent run cut short last time out, with Atletico running out 3-0 winners in the Canary Islands.

The guests have yet to record a clean sheet but since opening their campaign with a blank at Atleti, Quique Setien’s men have hit the back of the net in six of their following eight games with five of their last nine featuring Over 3.5 Goals.

Only once have Las Palmas landed fewer than three shots-on-target in an away game and amazingly, only Barcelona and Real Madrid have landed more on-target efforts and that’s despite travelling to the top-three already.

The visitors’ last two road trips have seen a huge 60 shots with the Yellows out-shooting Valencia 18-9 at the Mestalla in their most recent away day. So with lively Las Palmas and an improving Levante on show, I reckon goals could be on the agenda.

Both Teams To Score has been rated a 21/20 play with BetVictor and it’s a bet that’s won in 12/19 (63%) of the two teams’ respective home/away games. If we turned that percentage figure into equivalent odds, you’d be looking at a 1/2 poke.
