NFL Thanksgiving Tips | 26th-27th November 2015 | Sky Sports 1

OUR American Football experts Tom Selwyn (@Tom_Selwyn) and Louis Ross (@LouisRoss67) join forces to share their favourite Thanksgiving fancies on Thursday night.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Detroit Lions | Thursday 17.30 | Sky Sports 1

 Tom Selwyn’s (@Tom_Selwyn) view –

Philadelphia and Detroit are trending in different directions right now with the Eagles having lost two in a row and the Lions having won two in a row. The difference is that Detroit have beaten two quite good teams, including one on the road, and Philadelphia have been beaten by two pretty poor teams at home.

There’s just no way I can trust Eagles QB Mark Sanchez (who looks to be the starter as of right now) to lead Philadelphia to win. Sure he is able to move the offense, but then he’ll make some very daft decisions and give the game away – 4 INTs in the two games (one start) he’s played this year. With Detroit on the up and Philadelphia sliding,

I’ll be backing the Lions here at 9/11 with Marathon.

Louis Ross’s (@LouisRoss67) view -

The Lions win this game for me and kill the Eagles last remaining hopes of post-season football.

Chip Kelly is getting slaughtered by the press in Philly, as much for his style of football as results – losing at home to Tampa was a disaster.

If you need one reason to go against the Eagles – Mark Sanchez.

Detroit have had issues of their own, not least on the offensive line, but they have been protecting Matt Stafford a lot better recently. I like him to throw Over 270 yards at 10/11 (Ladbrokes).

Best Bets

Tom Selwyn – Detroit Lions to win (9/11 Marathon)

Louis Ross – Matt Stafford to throw Over 270 Passing Yards (10/11 Ladbrokes)

Carolina Panthers @ Dallas Cowboys | Thursday 21.30 | Sky Sports 1

Tom Selwyn’s (@Tom_Selwyn) view –

The Panthers are being disrespected yet again here and are maddeningly odds-against against the Cowboys in the second Thanksgiving matchup. Louis will be quite rightly lapping this up so I’ll be looking into another bet where they’re being disrespected: the turnover battle.

Somehow the Panthers – most INTs, tied for the most recovered fumbles in the league – are the same price as the Cowboys – joint 22nd for INTs, dead last for recovered fumbles – to have the Most Turnovers. Insane. I’ll be taking Dallas at 11/8 with William Hill.

Louis Ross’s (@LouisRoss67) view –

Nobody I have spoken to understands the Match Odds on this game. Carolina are odds-against going to a Dallas team that’s won three on the spin. The same Carolina team that is 10-0.

The same Carolina team that has the fourth best defence in the NFL and Cam Newton playing MVP Football. Panthers all day long at 21/20 with Bet365.

Best Bets

Tom Selwyn – Cowboys to win the Most Turnovers (11/8 William Hill)

Louis Ross – Carolina Panthers to win (21/20 Bet365)

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers | Friday 01.30 | Sky Sports 1

Tom Selwyn’s (@Tom_Selwyn) view –

We’ve got an NFC North matchup for the final game this year, and one that has been particularly one-sided in recent times. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers in particular has owned the Bears. Since becoming Green Bay’s starter he’s only lost three times in 16 games to Chicago (and one of those times he went out injured after only two passes).

Green Bay will be retiring their old QB Brett Favre’s jersey at half-time and I believe Rodgers, fittingly, will be emulating ‘the gunslinger’ and throwing it all over the field – I’m backing him to pass for Over 260.5 yards in this one.

Before that’s shot down as flimsy reasoning, since the 2011season, excluding the game he was injured, he’s gone over this total against the Bears in five out of seven games (two out of three at home). He should do so again against a team he’s dominated. It’s 17/20 with Ladbrokes.

Louis Ross’s (@LouisRoss67) view -

Aaron Rodgers actually looked like Aaron Rodgers on Sunday. Just as scary for my Bears, Eddie Lacy looked like Eddie Lacy.

In truth, although Chicago are deservedly 4-6, we have not performed too badly and Jay Cutler is not looking too much like, well, Jay Cutler.

Yes, Green Bay lost at home to Detroit for the first time in 24 years, but they looked like that was totally out of their system in Minnesota. Green Bay to cover the 7.5 handicap at 10/11 with SkyBet.

Best Bets

Tom Selwyn – Aaron Rodgers to throw Over 260.5 Passing Yards (17/20 Ladbrokes)

Louis Ross – Green Bay Packers -7.5 handicap (10/11 Skybet)
