T20 Blast Tips: Leicestershire v Durham | 28th May 2015 | Sky Sports 2

OUR T20 fanatic Josh Healey (@JoshHealey04) returns with two bets as Leicestershire Foxes face Durham Jets at Grace Road. The Jets are bidding to maintain their 100% start to the new season.

Leicestershire Foxes v Durham Jets | Thursday 17.00 | Sky Sports 2

My main bet for this match is on a market that many of you may be unaware of – the player performance market with bet365. Players accumulate points in the following ways: 20pts per wicket; 10pts per catch; 1pt per run.

There’s a few appealing candidates in this encounter, but the one I’m opting for is Durham’s John Hastings to score 30 or more points, available at odds of 5/6.

Hastings is a bustling quick bowler from Australia renowned for his wicket taking ability, and he knows how to swing a bat as well, often getting an opportunity for a quick-fire cameo in the late-order.

This is a bet that would’ve landed in all seven of Hastings’ appearances for Durham in last season’s T20 Blast. In no particular order, his point tallies in those matches totalled 36, 60, 30, 66, 102, and 80(x2). This season he’s notched scores of 13 (where he only bowled two overs due to a restricted overs game), and more recently 41.

Overall it’s a bet that would’ve landed in 8/9 of Hastings T20 appearances for Durham, so you can’t grumble at odds of 5/6. On top of that, just this week he took seven wickets in an innings in the County Championship, showing his rhythm and form are certainly up to scratch.

Another selection worthy of a punt is for Hastings to claim Top Durham Bowler honours, available at 13/4 with 888sport. It’s a bet that would’ve landed in 4/7 matches where Hastings featured last season, and in 1/2 this season.

I’m putting all my eggs in one basket here but you can certainly see why. Hastings is Durham’s danger man with the ball and he often delivers the goods; let’s hope he can do so again.
