International Friendlies Tips | 31st March 2015

THERE'S another busy night of international action on Tuesday. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) found two bets that caught his eye.

Switzerland v USA | Tuesday 17:00

It really is slim pickings on Tuesday night as another batch of international friendlies take place. This is most certainly not a night for big stakes and it's been difficult for me to pick out two bets that I like.

Switzerland seem to have recovered from their awful start to Euro 2016 qualifying. Indeed, following on from those bad defeats against England and Slovenia they've gone on to win their next three qualifiers with ease.

The 2-0 home defeat to England may have been a hangover from what was a reasonably successful World Cup, and that malaise continued the following month when they lost in Slovenia 1-0.

They seem to have given themselves a slap since though. Lithuania and San Marino were both disposed of 4-0 and on Friday night they cruised past Estonia 3-0.

Their opponents on Tuesday are USA and I fancy the Swiss to win. After a superb performance in the World Cup, the USA have also been on a downer since with just two wins in their eight post-Brazil matches.

Four of their last five games have ended in defeats, with a 4-1 loss to the Republic Of Ireland in November their nadir. On Wednesday they lost 3-2 to Denmark and I'm expecting a similar defeat here against a Switzerland side who have rediscovered their rhythm.

Austria v Bosnia | Tuesday 19:30

If I was placing a bet at odds-against on the friendlies on Tuesday night I'd back Austria to small stakes. There's no doubt for me that Marcello Koller's side are one of the most improved teams in Europe and that's been backed up in their Euro 2016 qualifier scores.

The Austrian's lie top of Group G at the halfway point after four wins from their five matches. Wins against Russia and Montenegro and a draw with Sweden have put them in a very strong position, and as we witnessed in their 5-0 mauling of Liechtenstein on Friday night they look well-tuned.

It's been a flat start to the qualifiers for Bosnia, with just a win against Andorra their only victory so far five games in.

They were also no doubt suffering from a World Cup hangover when they lost at home to Cyprus in September. Draws against Wales and Belgium followed before an expensive 3-0 loss in Israel in November.

Mehmed Bazdarevic's side face a battle to qualify and can't be in the best frame of mind as they take on this in-form and progressive Austrian side. 11/10 on Austria isn't an amazing price, but it's logical, and I'll have a small interest in it.
